What is the best time of year to go to Belize?

If you’re a tourist, you probably want to come from late-November to mid-April. Unlike other countries, Belize mainly has two seasons, the wet season and the dry season. These also synchronize with the high season and low season for tourism in Belize. The high season is when the most tourist’s come to Belize and when businesses are the busiest. This is from late-November to mid-April. Although it’s more crowded and probably costs more, there’s a reason most people come down during this time. It coincides with Christmas and winter break, meaning kids are generally free to travel, and as the Winter months start in other countries many people go to Belize to escape the chilly North. In Belize, the temperature is warm, but because its winter it isn’t very hot as it can be in other times of the year (although it can start to reaching higher temperatures by the end of the dry season). Because of this, tourists can get all the Belizean sun they want.

However, the low season can be a choice for some, which is from June to mid-November. You can get cheaper deals as businesses try to keep their rooms filled and it can sometimes be more relaxing because there are fewer people around. Remember to keep the wet season whether in mind and bring an umbrella, as it can get rainy, although clouds usually disperse after about an hour or two.

May and June are the hottest months in Belize, so if you love the Belizean heat, consider a trip then, but if you’re not a fan, try to avoid that time period.
